After that priority will be given to applications from students who attend UCL Target Schools or non-selective state schools in Camden, Islington, Haringey, Hackney and Westminster.
Completing the application form
- To apply you need to "buy" a ticket and upon completion will receive an "order confirmation". Please note, there are no charges involved with Target Medicine and the order confirmation is not a guarantee of your place, it is simply the terminology used by the website.
- There is a time limit of 4 hours to complete the application form. Therefore we would recommend drafting your application in a Word document and then copying and pasting the information over to the online form. A list of the application questions can be found here.
- It is vital that you are happy with your answers before submitting your application as it cannot be amended afterwards.
- Once you have submitted your application you will receive a confirmation email with a copy of your answers attached.
- The deadline for submission is 9am on Monday 21st November 2016. You will be contacted week commending 28th November 2016 and told if you have been accepted onto the scheme. As you can imagine, we receive hundreds of application forms so please do not contact us to chase up your application.
About Target Medicine Mentoring Scheme
Target Medicine Mentoring Scheme matches teams of volunteer UCL medical students with sixth form students from London-based, non-selective state schools who want to study medicine. It aims to give AS/A2 students a clear understanding of what's needed to be a successful applicant to medical school and provides structured support and guidance to them during the application process.
The scheme takes place on Wednesday evenings over the calendar year and students work with their mentors at the UCL Bloomsbury campus.
Unfortunately we are not able to accept applications from students who attend private school or international students.
